windows - mysql workbench 6.3 data export SSL connection error 2026 -

i using mysql workbench 6.3 on windows 10, , trying export data mysql database on same system. far can tell, although ssl enabled, not attempting connect mysql via ssl. however, when select database want export , run export, following error:

11:05:08 dumping bankaccounts (all tables) running: mysqldump.exe --defaults-file="c:\users\david\appdata\local\temp\tmpgzws3n.cnf" --set-gtid-purged=off --user=root --host=localhost --protocol=tcp --port=3306 --default-character-set=utf8 --skip-triggers "bankaccounts" mysqldump: got error: 2026: ssl connection error: socket layer receive error when trying connect operation failed exitcode 2 11:05:09 export of c:\dev\bankaccounts.sql has finished 1 errors

can enlighten me going on here? error message, looks though data export trying connect via ssl. case? if so, how can make connect without ssl? can't see ssl options, when set export.

all want dump entire database sql script. i'm not trying clever - export database.

update: turned off ssl on server , restarted it, , export worked. looks though turning on ssl means connections attempt use ssl when not requested. correct?
