emulation - Android SDK and Intel HAXM -

i running windows 8.1 on decent piece of hardware. cpu intel xeon e5-1620-v2 @ 3.7 ghz accessing 16 gb of ram. processor definitly supports vt-x needed according article speeding android* emulator on intel® architecture.

however installation package complains with:

this computer not support intel virtualization technology (vt-x). haxm cannot installed. please refer intel haxm documentation more information.

i running hyper-v on machine, pretty sure vt-x enabled. input on this?

make sure microsoft's hypervisor disabled/uninstalled system features.

when enabled windows boot light virtual session. prevents hypervisor using hardware because system virtualized.

edit: if don't want nuke hyper-v, scott hanselman has solution, can edit boot menu enable/disable hyper-v.
